Do you know how cellulite even appears? Understanding how it is created could really help in your fight against cellulite. Three factors exist, and for two of them, you are not responsible:

  • Hormonal and age factors: Estrogen, insulin, noradrenaline, thyroid, prolactin… These are the one most important hormones to be part of the cellulite production process. The visibility of the fat under the skin seems to be increased for women who are approaching to menopause, when estrogen decreases and circulation gets lower. A decreasing blood flow means less oxygen, resulting in a lower collagen production which regenerates dead skin cells and helps the skin to be strength and elastic.

Combine with a less firm and thinner skin because of age, it is the perfect combo for cellulite to be produced.

  • Genetics factors: your ethnicity, speed of metabolism, circulatory levels and distribution of fat under the skin are increasing or decreasing the chance for you to see fat deposits under your skin.
  • Lifestyle and dietary factors: These are the factors you can something about in your everyday routine. By reducing the amount of fat, carbohydrates and salt and increasing food that contains a high percentage of fiber, you can really lower the risks to have cellulite.

Even if cellulite does not appear due to toxins, smokers, people who do not do exercise, have excess fat or sit in one position for long periods of time might be more prevalent.
